Neon Genesis Evangelion is a landmark Japanese anime series created by Hideaki Anno and produced by Gainax, with Tatsunoko Production. The story is set in a post-apocalyptic world and follows a group of teenagers recruited to pilot giant mechs known as Evangelions to protect humanity from mysterious beings called Angels.
